What’s on offer
The Salary Range for this role is at Practicing Vet/Senior Practicing Vet grade (for 2024), up to $143,949 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/experience.
About this role
We provide first opinion and referral level surgery for clients and veterinary clinics throughout the lower North Isalnd. Our primary function is as a teaching hospital so we are seeking an advanced practitioner who would have a surgical caseload while providing clinical teaching to undergraduate students and supporting our rotating interns.
Our AVMA-accredited veterinary programme is world-renowned, providing quality, research-led education. The successful applicant will provide high-quality veterinary care as part of a collaborative team of specialists, vets, nurses, interns, and students.
You will get to interact with the ECC, medicine, radiology, and anaesthesia services. We also utilize the greater Massey VTH resources including digital radiography, in-house computed tomography, flexible and rigid endoscopy, full ultrasound suite, fully equipped and staffed ICU, Idexx in-house laboratory, and on-site clinical and anatomical pathology laboratories, oncology suite and out-sourced magnetic resonance imaging at a local medical facility. Journal Club, multidisciplinary rounds, staff seminars, in-house CPD, and study towards HEA fellowship are all strongly encouraged.
